Kata Dojo Masterclass
Deep-Dive Workshops
This website’s purpose is to help you choose your learning track for the upcoming Kata Dojo Masterclass. If you’re reading this you have likely signed up for the Kata Dojo Masterclass and received your enrollment email.
To make enrollment easy for you we have pre-assigned you to one of the learning tracks. Please read through the below explanations for the deep dive workshops. Afterwards, if you’d like to change to another learning track or choose different deep-dive workshops just drop me an email.
With the Kata Dojo Masterclass you can select two different learning paths:
The Coaching Track
The coaching track is for those that solely want to focus on getting their hands around the Coaching Kata so they can use it as an effective coaching model in their day-to-day work.
You will receive your Kata Dojo Masterclass Certificate for successfully completing this track.
The coaching track contains the 8 main sessions, the 6 deep practice group sessions and 4 workshops:
-
Coaching Kata Fundamentals
-
Kata Dojo Alumni Workshop
-
Coaching in Meetings
-
Kata Dojo Facilitation Workshop 1
Why is the first Kata Dojo Facilitation Workshop included? Because knowing how we structure learning and practice in the Dojo will help you get the best out of the Kata Dojo Masterclass. Watch Richard explain that from an Alumni perspective.
The Facilitation Track
The facilitation track focuses on helping you become a better coach, in the same way the coaching track does. On top it adds the facilitation side so you can run your own Coaching Dojo. Either with your clients or in your organization for taking coaches to the next level throughout all areas of your company.
This, of course comes with a slightly higher learning load than the coaching track. You’ll be asked to run your first two Kata Dojo sessions with colleagues, friends, or at a client as a final deliverable of the masterclass. (don’t worry too much, you only need to find two or three people to do so and we’ll make sure you have everything necessary to run).
In return you’ll be awarded with the Kata Dojo Masterclass Facilitator Certificate.
For the facilitation track the Facilitation Workshop 1 and 2 are a given. In addition you can choose 2 out of the other 3 workshops to your liking.
The coaching track contains the 8 main sessions, the 6 deep practice group sessions and 4 workshops:
-
Coaching Kata Fundamentals
(or any other workshop of your choice) -
Kata Dojo Alumni Workshop
-
Kata Dojo Facilitation Workshop 1
-
Kata Dojo Facilitation Workshop 2
How to choose
If you are new to Coaching Kata, not sure how the Coaching Kata model applies to your environment, or limited in the time you can invest for the masterclass, choose the Coaching Track. Participate in the Coaching Kata Workshop, get valuable tips from those that have been in your shoes previously in the alumni workshop. Next, join the coaching in meetings workshop to help you transfer what you learn in the masterclass to your unique environment. Enjoy sitting in on the first Kata Dojo Facilitation workshop without having to run a Dojo session yourself.
If you are new and want to fully immerse yourself in the deep learning the Kata Dojo Masterclass offers or are actively practicing Coaching Kata then the Facilitation Track is for you. Start with the Coaching Kata Fundamentals Workshop, next participate in the Kata Dojo Alumni Workshop to boost your confidence, and then top it off with both Kata Dojo Facilitation Workshops to get all you need for running your first Dojo sessions.
If you are an experienced Coaching Kata practitioner I highly recommend you choose the Facilitation Track. Besides the two facilitation workshops choose two other workshops you prefer.
You could pick the *Kata Dojo Alumni Workshop*, go for the *Coaching in Meetings & Tiny Coaching Habits*, or geek out with the *Developing a Dojo Exercise Workshop*. Yet, you still might benefit from taking the *Coaching Kata Fundamentals* up-front. It offers a nice warm-up.
If you’re feeling you might over commit, take the Coaching Track and focus on taking your coaching game to the next level. We are happy to have you on in any way.
If you’re in for the lifetime option, lucky you. Choose whichever track you’d like to do on your first run of the Kata Dojo Masterclass. On your consecutive runs complement your journey with the other workshops. Or run one of the workshops again to deepen the learning.
